Brave1 Dataroom: 80+ AI Models Trained with Palantir Support

Ukraine is expanding battlefield use of artificial intelligence through cooperation with Palantir Technologies and the Ministry of Defense’s Brave1 platform. According to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, more than 100 companies are using Brave1 Dataroom to train over 80 AI models. The models focus on detecting and intercepting aerial targets in complex conditions. Palantir tools are also used for air attack analysis, intelligence processing, and operational planning.

Germany and Ukraine Launch ‘Brave Germany’ Defense Tech Grants

Ukraine and Germany have announced Brave Germany, a joint program to support the development of defense technologies through grants for Ukrainian and German startups. The initiative, implemented with Ukraine’s Brave1 defense innovation cluster, will focus on drones, artificial intelligence, lasers, communications, missile technologies, and other defense-tech areas. During the Kyiv meeting, the sides also discussed air defense support, Patriot missiles, interceptor drones, deep-strike capabilities, and future cooperation on European anti-ballistic systems.

DTEK Refocuses on Ukraine with €2.4 Billion War‑Time Investment

Ukrainian energy holding DTEK is slowing its international expansion to focus on domestic operations, partnerships, and investment, CEO Maksym Timchenko said. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the company has invested €2.4 billion in restoring damaged facilities and building new ones. In January–April 2026, DTEK allocated about ₴5 billion (€97.7 million) to prepare for summer electricity demand and the next heating season.

EU‑Supported Startup EDGE Awards €300,000 to Ukrainian Innovators

The Ukrainian Startup Fund announced the first recipients of Startup EDGE grants, awarding €300,000 to nine Ukrainian startups in DeepTech, EdTech, GreenTech, and AI-related fields. The program is supported by EU4Innovation East, funded by the European Union, co-financed by France, and implemented by Expertise France; six seed-stage companies received €40,000 each, while three pre-seed startups received €20,000 each following March 2026 pitches.

Tryzub Anti‑Drone Laser Nears Debut After Two Years of R&D

Ukrainian defense technology company Celebra says its domestic laser weapon, Tryzub, is undergoing final tests ahead of a public presentation, following more than 2 years of development. The system reportedly can disable reconnaissance drones at up to 1,500 meters and FPV drones at 800–900 meters. Recent upgrades include AI-assisted targeting, target tracking, and radar integration. The company also describes prospective roles in air defense and demining.

Ukraine Pushes to Open First EU Negotiation Cluster in May

Kyiv Hit in One of Russia’s Largest Drone and Missile Attacks of the War

Russian forces launched a large overnight combined attack on Ukraine, using more than 670 strike drones and 56 missiles, according to Ukrainian officials. Kyiv was the main target, with damage reported at residential buildings, business sites, a school, and other civilian infrastructure. Officials reported one death and dozens of injuries in the capital, as well as casualties in the Kyiv region and Odesa. Ukraine’s Air Force said it intercepted 41 missiles and 652 drones.

Euroclear Transfers €6.6 Billion to Ukraine from Russian Asset Proceeds

Euroclear has transferred about €6.6 billion to Ukraine from income generated by frozen Russian assets, with another €1.4 billion expected in July 2026. The funds come through an EU emergency contribution mechanism supporting Ukraine. Euroclear reported €237 billion in blocked payments and redemptions on its balance sheet at the end of March 2026, including €200 billion in sanctioned Russian assets.
