Ukraine, Lockheed Martin Explore Joint Defense Production
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of Lockheed Martin during a trip to the United States to discuss expanding defense cooperation with Ukraine. Talks focused on joint production, technology transfer, and possible cooperation on Patriot air-defense systems and other weapons. Zelenskyy said Ukrainian and company teams are working on practical steps to accelerate implementation. The meeting followed talks with US President Donald Trump about the possible establishment of Patriot interceptor missile production in Ukraine.

Diia.City Surpasses 10 Unicorns as Tech Hub Expands
Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation says more than 10 Diia.City resident companies are now valued at over $1 billion. The group includes Superhuman, Preply, Fintech IT-Group, Quantum Systems, Lyft, DataRobot, Talkdesk and TEKEVER, spanning AI, education, fintech, mobility and defense technology. Diia.City currently includes over 4,500 companies employing more than 187,000 specialists. Since the framework was launched, its residents have paid over UAH 90 billion in taxes.

Russian Strikes Force Business Shutdowns Across Ukraine
Russian attacks on maritime routes, civilian infrastructure, and commercial facilities are forcing Ukrainian companies to suspend operations. Southern Mining and Poltava Mining have halted production as disruptions to Black Sea shipping constrain exports, while agricultural producers warn of broader financial risks. METRO closed its sole store in Zaporizhzhia, and JYSK previously closed its Sumy location. Analysts report more than 160 fuel stations damaged or destroyed, mainly in Kharkiv, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Ukraine Advances $1.1B Sovereign Satellite Constellation Plan
Ukraine is preparing a $1.1 billion national satellite communications network designed to support government agencies, defense forces, and critical infrastructure. Ukrainian company Stetman has formed UASAT, a joint venture with Denmark’s GomSpace, to develop the system and establish satellite production in Ukraine. A demonstration satellite is scheduled for autumn 2026, followed by 120 satellites in 2027 and a planned 360-satellite constellation by 2030. The network is being designed to withstand electronic warfare.

InformNapalm Claims Russian Air Defense Downed Su-57 in Friendly Fire Incident
According to InformNapalm, a joint intelligence and cyber operation prompted Russian air defenses to shoot down a Su-57 fighter plane shortly after takeoff from Kubinka airfield near Moscow. The group said that access to intercepted training materials had helped identify vulnerabilities in Russian air-defense systems, allowing Ukrainian specialists to disrupt the operations of a single unit. Defense Express suggested two possible scenarios: either the automated gun systems were compromised, or the airspace data was manipulated to misidentify the aircraft as hostile. EU Releases €3.47B to Ukraine Under Support Loan Program
The European Union has transferred €3.47 billion to Ukraine under the Ukraine Support Loan mechanism. The funding will support defense and other priority government needs. Ukraine is expected to receive €45 billion through the program in 2026 and has so far secured €11.6 billion, including €8.4 billion for defense. The EU Council also approved an updated Ukraine Plan, potentially unlocking another €8 billion linked to reforms in governance, anti-corruption and the rule of law.

Ireland Commits €125M in New Military and Infrastructure Aid
Ireland has announced a new €125 million assistance package for Ukraine during Prime Minister Micheál Martin’s visit to Kyiv. Of the total, €100 million will fund non-lethal military support, while €25 million will support the restoration and protection of critical infrastructure, including the energy sector. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ireland has provided Ukraine with €550 million in humanitarian, stabilization and military assistance, including contributions through the European Peace Facility.

Russian Strike on Kyiv Region Event Kills 11, Targets Defense Sector Gathering
A Russian ballistic missile strike on a private sports complex in Bucha district, Kyiv region, killed 11 people and injured dozens. The venue was hosting representatives of Ukraine’s defense industry. Prosecutors opened investigations into the attack and possible negligence in organizing the event. The main organizer was detained and remanded in custody for 60 days without bail. Authorities also reported damage to 27 homes and 44 vehicles.
