Talkdesk Deepens Ukraine Entry via Diia.City R&D Hub

Portuguese unicorn Talkdesk has officially entered the Ukrainian market by joining Diia.City, Ukraine’s legal and tax framework for tech companies. The company develops an AI-powered customer service automation platform used in more than 100 countries across sectors such as finance, healthcare, retail, and government. In Ukraine, Talkdesk plans to open an office and hire around 20 specialists, with a focus on AI research and development for its customer experience platform.

EU Unveils €100M Energy Package and 2026-27 Winter Plan

The European Union will provide Ukraine with a new €100 million energy assistance package and work with Kyiv on a winter energy plan for 2026-2027. According to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the plan will focus on stabilizing the power system, securing electricity supplies, supporting decentralized renewable energy, and repairing and modernizing grids and combined heat and power plants. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also announced a new energy coordination meeting in March.

Ukrspecsystems Opens First Ukrainian Drone Factory in the UK

A Ukrainian defense manufacturer, Ukrspecsystems, is launching its first production facility in the United Kingdom, marking the start of operations at the first Ukrainian drone factory in Britain. According to Ambassador Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the move is intended to strengthen production resilience while keeping core engineering expertise in Ukraine. The facility will support joint defense manufacturing with the UK, including interceptor drones developed under Project OCTOPUS for supply to Ukraine.

Canada Commits Multi‑Year Aid, Vehicles, and New Sanctions

Canada has announced CAD 2 billion in military assistance for Ukraine for the 2026–2027 fiscal years, along with new sanctions targeting 21 individuals, 53 entities, and 100 vessels linked to Russia’s shadow fleet. Ottawa will also provide more than 400 armored vehicles, extend its UNIFIER military training mission until 2029, and contribute an additional CAD 20 million to Ukraine’s Energy Support Fund. Canada also lowered the price cap on Russian crude oil.

Norway to Provide $9 Billion for Ukraine in 2026 Under Nansen Program

Norway will provide Ukraine with about $9 billion in assistance in 2026 under the Nansen program, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said after meeting Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Kyiv. The support includes military, civilian, and humanitarian funding. The sides also discussed energy security, including gas imports, contributions to Ukraine’s Energy Support Fund, and equipment for distributed generation facilities. They also reviewed potential investment projects that could be backed by Norway’s state investment fund, Norfund.

Microsoft and Ukrainian Startup Fund Offer Up to $150,000 in Azure Credits

Microsoft will offer Ukrainian startups up to $150,000 in Azure cloud credits through a new partnership with the Ukrainian Startup Fund, which has joined the Microsoft for Startups Investor Network. The program is open to private product-based tech companies from pre-seed to Series A stages. The credits can be used for cloud infrastructure, data storage, AI and machine learning tools, product testing, and preparation for expansion into international markets.

Ghana’s Foreign Minister Makes First‑Ever Official Visit to Kyiv

Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made the first official visit to Kyiv by a Ghanaian foreign minister since the establishment of bilateral relations. During talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, the sides discussed cooperation in food security, logistics, defense industry and education. They also addressed the issue of Ghanaian citizens captured while fighting on Russia’s side, with Ukraine confirming diplomatic access in line with international law.

Report Details Russian Militarization of Ukrainian Children in Occupied Areas

Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation reported that Russian authorities are intensifying militarization efforts targeting Ukrainian children in occupied territories. According to the statement, schools in Mariupol held events involving Russian military personnel and clergy, in which children were encouraged to pledge loyalty to Russia and were described as a future reserve for the Russian army. The Center said these activities form part of a broader campaign aimed at reshaping attitudes among children living under occupation.
