Ukraine opens battlefield data platform for drone AI training
Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has authorized Ukrainian and international companies to train AI models for drones using real battlefield data through a dedicated platform created at the Ministry of Defense’s Center for Innovation and Defense Technology Development. Developers will be able to work with large volumes of labeled photo and video data from combat flights without direct access to sensitive databases, and the datasets will be continuously updated. Millions of annotated frames from tens of thousands of combat missions are already being used to train neural networks for automatic ground and aerial target detection in the DELTA system, and the ministry said it is ready to work with partners on analytics, model training, and joint development.
