Additionally, draft law No. 10258, focused on veteran entrepreneurship, introduces state-supported programs and benefits to aid veteran-owned businesses. Both laws emphasize reintegration, rehabilitation, and opportunities for veterans transitioning to civilian life.
Ukraine Launches Guide for Major Investors
The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy introduced an updated guide for investors interested in projects over €12 million. This guide outlines project requirements, including a step-by-step roadmap for submitting applications. Targeted sectors include manufacturing, mining, transport, and health. The guide, which links to the Law on State Support for Investment Projects, also highlights government incentives, prioritizing projects that foster local industry.
$50M Investment Boost for Ukrainian Businesses
The Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF) launched a $50 million direct investment program to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ukraine and Moldova with revenues over $5 million. With flexible financing options ranging from $1-3 million, UMAEF aims to aid businesses in overcoming war-related challenges and driving sustainable growth. The fund, backed by USAID, also provides strategic support, focusing on robust companies with growth potential across diverse sectors.
Ukrainian Syndicate Toloka.vc Backs AI Platform Capacity
Toloka.vc, a Ukrainian venture syndicate, invested $1.65 million in the U.S. AI-driven platform Capacity as part of a $26 million funding round. Led by CEO David Karandish, Capacity uses AI to enhance helpdesk automation, integrating over 200 applications to streamline customer interactions. Toloka.vc, co-founded in 2023, sees strong growth potential in the helpdesk sector, forecasted to expand significantly by 2032. This investment marks Toloka’s continued interest in high-growth tech sectors internationally.
Ukraine and Egypt Forge New Partnership Path
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha met Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati in Cairo to advance bilateral relations through a newly proposed roadmap. Discussions emphasized defense collaboration, food security amid Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports, and cooperation in multiple sectors, including aerospace and trade. Sybiha also urged Egypt’s support for Ukraine’s peace initiatives and highlighted the mutual goal of fostering stability against Russian influences in Africa. The meeting concluded with a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen diplomatic training exchanges.
Ukraine and Finland Discuss Defense and Peace Summit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo in Reykjavik to discuss enhanced defense support, including air defense, artillery supplies, and investments in long-range drone and missile production. They also reviewed Finland’s leadership in civil protection and preparation for the second Peace Summit. G7 and EU Pledge $50 Billion Aid to Ukraine
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Ukraine will receive $50 billion from the G7 and EU this year, funded by frozen Russian assets. The EU will provide up to €35 billion, the U.S. $20 billion, and the UK £2.3 billion.
